Reach for Change
Social entrepreneurs improve the lives of children in Ghana

Tigo Ghana, in partnership with the Swedish-based non-profit organization, Reach for Change, have launched the 2013 edition of the REACH FOR CHANGE project which is aimed at improving the lives of children through social entrepreneurs who have ideas on how to better the lives of children in Ghana.

The initiative is Tigo’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity, under which individuals with innovative and entrepreneurial ideas are given an opportunity to make a great social impact by changing the lives of children in their communities.

The Four lucky winners who will be selected will each receive $25,000 a year for three years to help bring their ideas to life. In addition to the financial support, they will receive professional coaching and mentoring from employees of Tigo to equip them with the skills and expertise to operate on their own after the three years. The team from Reach For Change will also work with them to implement their projects.

Speaking at the launch of the project, the Acting General Manager Tigo Ghana, Obafemi Banigbe said Tigo is committed to partner and empower people with the right tools and the entrepreneurial drive to make sustainable change.

According to him by the end of the three years, the projects should be financially self sustaining, providing employment and opportunities for the youth; while improving the lives of children.

''We affirm our continuous support to invest in individuals with the right tools, entrepreneurial skills and innovative drive to make sustainable improvement and change. We believe CSR is about profitable investment with dividends for the larger community in which we operate.''
